ABOUT the teacher

I started ballet at age 3 and have danced ever since.

I took part in many Youth Ballets, stage productions and Eisteddfods during my school career. In 1996 I won the 16 & Over Championships before heading off to UCT School of Dance where I completed a 2 year Certificate in Dance course. I had the opportunity to work with many incredible teachers and choreographers, such as Nicolette Loxton, Vincent Hantam, David Krugel, Lindy Raisenberg and did ad hoc work with Cape Town City Ballet.

Thereafter I went to study Drama at CADA in Cape Town and having completed a ‘Trinity Performance Certificate in Speech and Drama’ I was accepted into a Theatre Sports Improv Company and performed with them for a year.

A total change of direction saw me working for Clinique in Canal Walk for a year….but the longing to dance was too great and I came back to George with the prospect of teaching and settling to start a family.

That was in 2001 and I haven’t looked back since.

I have achieved Associate Diploma Status in the Cecchetti Method.

I enter students for Cecchetti exams, Eisteddfods and we put on Stage Productions.

My love for dance, children and music is married perfectly in my craft. To watch students grow and flourish is what makes my job so satisfying.

I look forward to the many years ahead of laying a good foundation in strong ballet training.
